Our family often takes advantage of secret free parking on the golf course while visiting dog-friendly Doran Beach. Up the road in Jenner, California, Goat Rock Beach’s ocean-side swells and pounding waves are only for the bravest sharks and surfers, making it one of the deadliest beaches in the nation. But, river-side, the rolling dunes of Jenner’s Goat Rock Beach where the river meets the ocean shield visitors from the wind and waves, providing a safe haven for children and seals alike. Exploring the tide pools and kayaking at the mouth of the river in Jenner amongst the playful leaping seals is one of our favorite outdoor activities. You cannot get closer to nature than at Bodega Bay and the Sonoma Coast.
